About the Font Preview
This font preview tool lets you test text against a curated collection of popular Google Fonts. Type your sample text, pick a typeface, then dial in the size, weight, and italic style. The fonts load on demand directly from Google's CDN — your text is never uploaded anywhere.
What you can adjust
- Font family — Browse dozens of popular serif, sans-serif, monospace, and display fonts.
- Weight — Switch between Light (300) and ExtraBold (800), where the font supports it.
- Size — Drag the slider from 12px to 96px to see how the typeface scales.
- Italic — Toggle italic styling to preview oblique variants.
How to use
- Type your sample text into the box (it can be a headline, paragraph, or any string).
- Select a font family from the dropdown.
- Adjust weight, size, and italic to taste — the preview updates instantly when you click Apply.
- Compare different fonts by changing the family and re-applying.
Frequently asked questions
Where do the fonts come from? They are served by the Google Fonts CDN. The tool only requests a font when you select it, so initial load is fast.
Does every font support every weight? No — some fonts only ship a subset of weights. If a weight isn't available, the browser falls back to the nearest match.
Can I use these fonts on my own site? Yes. Google Fonts are open source and free to use. Copy the family name and add it to your own stylesheet via the Google Fonts API.
